More Than a Factory Visit
Our recent journey to the Dominican Republic was more than a visit to a factory. It took us to Tamboril, the place where the story of Wyndham Reserve Cigars truly begins.
Wyndham Reserve was never conceived as a mass-market cigar. It is a deliberately boutique collection, created for smokers who value provenance, individuality and the distinction of enjoying something not made to be commonplace.
Inside El Hoyito
Craftsmanship on a Boutique Scale
At the family-operated El Hoyito factory, production remains personal. Every tobacco leaf selected for a Wyndham Reserve cigar is aged for two to three years before it reaches the artisan’s hands. Only after that patient preparation is the cigar rolled, allowing the tobacco time to develop the depth, balance and character required for the blend. Close attention at every stage gives each cigar the care that large-scale production cannot provide. The quantities are intentionally controlled because exceptional cigars—and genuine exclusivity—cannot be rushed.
The Master Blender
Juan Gómez López
At the center of this tradition is Master Blender Juan Gómez López. After decades devoted to understanding tobacco, Juan approaches every blend personally, protecting the individuality and consistency expected from a true boutique collection.
Quality control is personally overseen by Juan and his brother, Kiko López. Together, they bring more than 50 years of experience in cigar rolling, blending and manufacturing. Their practiced hands and uncompromising standards ensure that every Wyndham Reserve cigar meets the expectations of the family before it earns a place in the collection.

Good Was Not Enough
Seventeen Blends Rejected
Before our collection was finalized, experimental blends were rejected. Each cigar had to earn its place.
That uncompromising selection is what makes the final collection exclusive: only five blends possessed the identity, balance and character worthy of the Wyndham Reserve name.
The Final Five
Five Blends. One Vitola.
Connecticut, Cameroon, Habano, Maduro and Colorado Oscuro. Five exclusive blends, all presented in one classic vitola: the Robusto.
Produced with boutique attention rather than mass-market volume, each delivers a distinct experience while preserving the balance, construction and character that unite the Wyndham Reserve collection.
What We Brought Home
We returned home with more than cigars and photographs. We returned with a deeper connection to the people, traditions and Dominican craftsmanship behind our brand—and a renewed commitment to keep Wyndham Reserve personal, selective and unmistakably boutique.
