More Than a Factory Visit
Our recent journey to the Dominican Republic was more than a visit to a factory. It took us to Tamboril—the place where the story of Wyndham Reserve Cigars truly begins.
We went to see the craft firsthand, spend time with the people behind our cigars and deepen our connection to the traditions that guide every blend we create.
Inside El Hoyito
Craftsmanship Cannot Be Rushed
At the family-operated El Hoyito factory, we experienced the patience and craftsmanship behind every cigar. From carefully aged tobacco to the skilled hands at the rolling tables, each step reinforced a simple truth: exceptional cigars cannot be rushed.
The Master Blender
Juan Gómez López
At the center of this tradition is Master Blender Juan Gómez López. After decades devoted to understanding tobacco, Juan approaches every blend with a philosophy that defines Wyndham Reserve.
Every leaf has a purpose.
Every blend has a soul.
Good Was Not Enough
Seventeen Blends Rejected
Before our collection was finalized, Juan rejected seventeen experimental blends. Each cigar needed its own identity while remaining part of the same family.
The Result
The Final Five
Five handcrafted Dominican Robustos—Connecticut, Cameroon, Habano, Maduro and Colorado Oscuro. Each delivers a distinct experience without compromising balance, construction or character.
We returned home with more than cigars and photographs. We returned with a deeper connection to the people, traditions and Dominican craftsmanship behind our brand.
Wyndham Reserve is no longer simply an idea carried to the Dominican Republic. It is a piece of the Dominican Republic that we are honored to bring home.
Crafted with Purpose. Rooted in Tradition.
